Meadowhall is the biggest shopping centre in Yorkshire and the 11th largest in the UK, attracting 30m visitors each year. It’s home to leading brands, a huge choice of restaurants and an exciting leisure offering.
Meadowhall have been working with the same design agency in some form pretty much since they opened their doors back in 1990. Bryce Mennell, based in Hull, have worked with them on every major milestone and event, from the launch of their very first website, to the more recent £7m revamp of the Oasis Dining Quarter, and they still work with them on a daily basis.
I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in that particular relationship for the last 10 years. When Bryce Mennell first called on me back in 2011 to provide copy about the centre’s many dining options, I had no idea I would still be working on campaigns and communications for Meadowhall a full decade later.
I’ve written copy for everything from summer fashion campaigns, seasonal events, billboards, social media, retailer comms and even out of order loo signs!
Award-winning
I was even lucky enough to be asked to write for the award-winning ‘To Dine For’ campaign, which marked the opening of the Oasis Dining Quarter.
Writing for Meadowhall is fast-paced and fun, and it makes for a wonderfully diverse working week. Writing fabulous fashion copy is often a welcome change from the more ‘serious’ business-focused content I get asked to produce for other clients. I can even state with certainty that my favourite ever copywriting job was for Meadowhall!
